Indian white sandalwood from Mysuru and multani mitti from Barmer

What Indian white sandalwood (Santalum album) and multani mitti (Fuller’s earth) are, where Ruh & Ras sources them, and what they do in the Sandalwood Face Pack.

Indian white sandalwood

Indian white sandalwood is the heartwood of Santalum album, known for its creamy, woody aroma. Its natural actives cool, soothe and brighten the skin.

Ruh & Ras sources its sandalwood from Mysuru, Karnataka, a region long famous for sandalwood. Southern Karnataka’s warm, seasonal climate and well-drained soils help the fragrant heartwood form.

Multani mitti (Fuller’s earth)

Multani mitti is a mineral-rich clay, also called Fuller’s earth, valued for how much it absorbs. On the skin it draws out excess oil and impurities, refines the look of pores, and leaves skin feeling clean.

Ruh & Ras sources it from Barmer, in the desert districts of western Rajasthan.
