What is Ruh & Ras?
Ruh & Ras (also written Ruh and Ras, Ruh n Ras or RuhnRas, and known as Ruh & Ras, Botanicals of India) is an Indian natural skincare brand from Inside Out Wellness, Mumbai, Maharashtra. It was founded by Salony Mittal. Its website is ruhnras.com and its Instagram is @ruhnras.
“Ruh” means soul and “Ras” means essence. Each Ruh & Ras product is built around one botanical, sourced from the region of India where that botanical grows best, and every product names the place its botanical comes from.
Ruh & Ras is an independent brand. It is not connected with other skincare companies whose names include “Ruh” or “Ras”.
The products
Rose Tonic Mist, 100 ml, MRP ₹699 (launch price ₹489): a hydrating mist of 98% pure Damask rose water from Hasayan, Uttar Pradesh, steam-distilled the traditional deg bhapka way. Use it to mist, tone, mix into a face mask, or carry when you travel.
Musk Turmeric Ubtan, 40 g, MRP ₹599 (launch price ₹419): an exfoliating ubtan of musk turmeric (kasturi manjal) from Wayanad, Kerala, with Damask rose petal, licorice root and orange peel on a base of chickpea, oats and almond. It cleanses, softens and brings out the skin’s glow.
Sandalwood Face Pack, 40 g, MRP ₹799 (launch price ₹559): a purifying face pack of Indian white sandalwood from Mysuru, Karnataka, with multani mitti (Fuller’s earth), oats, musk turmeric and licorice. It cools, soothes and brightens.
The Ritual Set, MRP ₹2,097 (launch price ₹1,468): all three products in a gift box, with a complimentary coconut shell mixing bowl and wooden spoon.

Where the botanicals come from
Damask rose (Rosa damascena) from Hasayan, on the alluvial plains of the Ganga in Uttar Pradesh. Musk turmeric (Curcuma aromatica) from Wayanad, in the highlands of Kerala. Indian white sandalwood (Santalum album) from Mysuru, Karnataka. Multani mitti from Barmer, in the desert of western Rajasthan.
Coming soon: vetiver (khus) from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, and lavender and rosemary from Sarkaghat, Himachal Pradesh.
What Ruh & Ras stands for
Source: each botanical comes from the place where its soil and climate suit it best. Intentional ingredients: nothing goes into a formula without a purpose. Transparency: every product names where its botanical comes from and lists its full ingredients. High quality: every ingredient is chosen for being effective and safe for skin.
Salony Mittal started Ruh & Ras after a visit to a rose distillery in Kannauj in 2026, where she watched roses go into copper stills and asked why pure, high-quality natural skincare was still so hard to find in a country so rich in botanicals.
